The Fifth Element (1997) (7/10)

A fun movie. Sci-fi with the usual space ships, evil, aliens, magic antidote and so on, but also humour. In fact on one level it seems like a parody of many other serious counterparts to itself. The fifth element needs to be combined with the other four. But the fifth element happens to be alive. I do not know if it is fair to say, but Bruce Willis seems a lot like Indiana Jones but for the background. Not too much acting is needed as there is enough action. Many things about the evil and the aliens go unexplained as usual.

  1. The Fifth Element was a very fun movie, also it was well filmed, edited and the actors, they did what they were paid to do very well. I didn’t care for Chris Tucker, but the movie wouldn’t have been the same without him, so I have always just dealt with him even though he makes my ears bleed. The movie had a flow to it, the scenes flowed into the other, and the conversations flowed in between different scenes and actors having the same conversation. This was one of the best movies to come out of the 90’s in my mind, at least when it comes to action sci fi movies. This is why it was the first movie I put into my queue when I set up my blockbuster @home account, after Netflix raised prices, I didn’t have any rental’s for movies so I decided since I work at DISH I would give the @home a shot. Before I even put The Fifth Element into my queue I looked through the 20 movie channels included and the on demand hoping it would be there but alas, sometimes I have bad timing because I didn’t find it, so I rented it and I have continued to get my $10 out of the plan every month, mostly with streaming movies. I forgot how orange that shirt was although that could have been just because it was the first time I had seen it in High Definition, but still I can’t seem to get bored watching it from end to end, proves that it is a very enjoyable movie.
